Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's initial Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had completed 53 deals. One of them was a purchase of $350,000 to Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a housewife. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied on free food deliveries from a local grocer. Corcoran states that her father was drunk who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran struggled at school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran went to an area Catholic elementary school before beginning high school in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. After flunking several courses during her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
