Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19 1965 was an American actress. She is also an actor and producer. Her most famous role is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. For her portrayal of Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13, 2012, following the conclusion of its seventh season. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's films roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are also among her many. Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her dad was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and has stated that she goes to Passover seders.
